— Ave C., Designer, Oakland, CA
Jackie earned an MBA in International Business at the University of Memphis and a BA in International Relations and Spanish at Tulane University. While working for a well known international corporation, she began looking for a personal challenge to commemorate her 30th birthday. She found that opportunity in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program. After months of training for a triathlon and fundraising for leukemia, Jackie accomplished what she never thought she could—she completed an olympic distance triathlon. Her sense of accomplishment made her want to help others reach their own personal goals. This eventually led to her decision to become a health and fitness professional.
Jackie has worked at top notch health clubs in the Southern and Midwest regions of the country and achieved the level of Master Trainer. She currently owns her own wellness business in the Oakland/East San Francisco Bay area where she specializes in small group training and nutrition as well as Zumba Fitness classes.
As a competitive recreational tennis player, Zumba instructor, former runner and triathlete, Jackie thrives on her active lifestyle. She understands, however, that not everyone is an athlete or enjoys working out, so her goal is to help her clients find their inner motivation. She exposes them to new approaches and challenges her clients beyond their current limits. When the training sessions are over, her clients feel empowered on their lifelong journey of fitness and health.
